My Approach

As a Registered Psychologist and Chartered Counselling Psychologist I work within an integrative framework. This means I have trained in a range of psychotherapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic, Person-centred, Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing therapy (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution Focused, Mindfulness and Ego State approaches. This enables me to tailor the therapeutic approach I offer according to the individual needs of my clients. I am able to offer both short term and longer term work.

As a Chartered Psychologist I am a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS). I am also an Associate Fellow of the BPS and a member of the Division of Counselling Psychology. I am registered with the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Counselling Psychologist which is a protected title. I work to the Code of Ethics and Conduct of the British Psychological Society (BPS).

Confidentiality

I offer a private service and adhere to clear and strict guidelines relating to confidentiality. This means that anything you say to me is confidential. There are a few situations where confidentiality may be broken such as if I am concerned about serious harm occurring to yourself or others, legal requirements or should a referring agency or insurance company who are paying your fees require a report. However should any of these exceptions occur, this is discussed with you as to how best to proceed. Please feel free to ask me any questions you wish about this at our initial meeting.

Supervision

It is a requirement of my profession that I receive regular clinical supervision from a qualified supervisor of my casework. This is carried out in a way that your anonymity and confidentiality are assured.
